Profile content. We store the content you add to your profile: bio, links, avatar, cover image, theme preferences, and social links.

Usage data. We track profile view counts and link click counts so you can see how your page is performing. We do not build advertising profiles or sell this data.

Authentication. If you sign in with a third-party provider (e.g. Google, GitHub), we receive your name, email, and profile picture from that provider.

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and operate your account and public profile
• Display analytics (view counts, click counts) to you
• Send transactional emails (e.g. password reset) when necessary
• Detect and prevent abuse or violations of our Terms of Service
• Improve the Service

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Your profile page is public by default. This means your username, display name, bio, links, and avatar are visible to anyone on the internet. You can change your profile visibility to “unlisted” or “private” at any time from your dashboard settings.

We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences (such as dark mode). We do not use third-party tracking cookies or analytics services that track you across the web.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently delete all associated data — your profile, links, and analytics — within 30 days.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. However, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You have the right to:

• Access and export your data at any time from your account settings
• Correct inaccurate information by editing your profile
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Control the visibility of your public profile

betray.me is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us so we can delete it.
